Hygraph – Designed a headless CMS from 0 → 1

Hygraph is a GraphQL-native headless CMS based in Berlin. I joined the company in 2020 as the first and only designer, working within a 20-person team spanning engineering and sales.
My role was broad and dynamic – owning everything from early product definition and UX to visual design and prototyping. Alongside designing the product from the ground up, I laid out the foundations for our design system – Baukasten and early brand system – Gestalten, setting patterns that would later scale with the team.
I worked closely with the CEO and founding team to shape the product vision, support early customer conversations, and help position the product for the Series A fundraising.

As Hygraph grew beyond its early stages, my role evolved into Head of Design following our Series A raise. I built and led the design function, growing the team to five designers across product design, design systems, and brand.
Alongside team building, I focused on creating the conditions for designers to do their best work – establishing clear ownership, design processes, and strong cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and leadership.
I continued to partner closely with the leadership team on strategic initiatives, including leading the rebrand from GraphCMS to Hygraph. This shift reflected our expanded product vision as a federated content platform and played a key role in positioning the company for Series B funding.
With a View – Built a browser extension that turns new tabs into mini-vacations, loved by 10K+ users
